Wheel assemblies are integral for a Chevy Cruze’s performance, which explains why learning each model’s respective bolt patterns is a non-skip beginner lesson. Otherwise, the factory wheel will likely strip off the hub centric rings without proper bolt mounting, compromising road safety.

My team has compiled detailed Chevy Cruze bolt pattern guidelines through each gen. Keep scrolling for more advice.

What Is The Bolt Pattern for Chevy Cruze?

Except for the first-gen (2001 – 2008, whose cars can hardly be found in the modern market nowadays), the current Chevy Cruze wheel bolt pattern is 5 x 105 mm or 5 x 4.13 in. So there are 5 lug nuts evenly spaced 105 mm apart.

Why Should You Learn The Chevy Cruze Wheel Pattern?

As previously mentioned, learning the bolt patterns is crucial for the wheel design, which, in turn, benefits the car. More specifically:

  • During wheel replacement: Bolt patterns have a huge role in deciding the wheel’s placement on the wheel hub. Knowing how they are designed helps you make better decisions when purchasing new wheel options; there is no need to spend a fortune on wheel sizes that do not fit.
  • Wheel upgrades: The same could apply to aftermarket, steel wheel upgrades – either for performance or aesthetic purposes.
  • Tire rotation: For those who rotate tires at home, a brief overview of the bolt patterns makes tire removal and reinstallation a breeze.

How to Measure Chevy Cruze Bolt Pattern?

In case you lose your manual or cannot find the bolt pattern info on any trusted Internet source, use my guides below for a proper wheel bolt measurement:

Step One. Park the car on an even, flat surface. Engage its emergency brakes for optimal stability.

Step Two. Remove the tire’s hubcap with a screwdriver.

Step Three. Chevy Cruze cars come with 5 bolts (odd number), so you have to measure the gap from one nut’s top to the middle of another across the wheel’s center. Another alternative is to use bolt circle templates: slide them over your wheel’s studs and note down the markings.

Step Four. Combine the wheel diameter with the number of bolts you already noted down in Step Two. Put an “x” between them, and there you have it: the bolt pattern of your model vehicle.

How to Tighten The Bolts and Wheel Lugs For Your Chevy Cruze

Tighten them in criss-cross patterns with your wheel wrench. Repeat these steps once or twice more, ensuring all nuts are thoroughly secured to the manual’s torque specification.

Once done, tighten the center cap/wheel’s cover (hand snug), then give them an extra 1/4 turn with your wrench.

It would be best if safety checks were to be performed regularly; on my part, I usually check the nuts every 30 miles or 48 kilometers to avoid unwanted accidents. Whenever the bolts seem loosened, I re-tighten them and check on the bolts after another 30 miles.

Conclusion

Except for the first gen, the Chevy Cruze lug pattern stays generally consistent from year to year, which makes it quite convenient for Chevy Cruze fans to switch from one model to another.

Keep in mind extra tips for measuring and strengthening the bolt patterns. If you still struggle with the tire size bolt patterns, I am here to help.
